Clark eyed as premier logistics hub
Clark International Airport Corp (CIAC) plans to transform Clark International Airport into a premier global civil aviation logistics hub. The state-owned firm has identified seven flagship programs to be implemented from 2024 onwards, aiming to make Clark and Central Luzon a transshipment hub of Southeast Asia. The programs include the establishment of a direct access link, expansion of road networks and utilities, and the construction of a new CIAC headquarters. The construction of a second runway will be put on hold until the airport reaches its goal of handling 80 million passengers per year, which is expected in around 20 years.
