EV Revolution Expands Canada Auto Sector Beyond Ontario
Canada's auto sector is expanding across the country as it shifts towards electric-vehicle (EV) production. Research by the Trillium Network for Advanced Manufacturing and Accelerate has identified C$26.8bn ($19.7bn) worth of investments in the EV supply chain, with 156 companies in 12 segments. Ontario remains the traditional auto-sector base with 72 businesses, but Québec has 42 EV supply chain companies and British Columbia has 26. Other provinces are also developing EV supply chains. The shift to EVs presents a significant economic opportunity for Canada, with potential benefits for the entire country.
