Hanwha Secures Polysilicon Supply Chain for Solar Power ...

Hanwha Group Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan has secured a polysilicon supply chain in the North American market, a crucial step towards completing the Solar Hub Project, the largest solar business complex in North America. Hanwha Q CELLS Georgia, a subsidiary of Hanwha Solutions, has signed a 10-year contract with REC Silicon to purchase low-carbon polysilicon worth an estimated $3 billion. The polysilicon will be used to manufacture ingots and wafers for solar cells. Hanwha Solutions has been buying stakes in REC Silicon and will support the restart of REC Silicon's Moses Lake plant.
