The U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) participated in the fifth round of negotiations for the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) in Bangkok, Thailand. Progress was made on negotiations under Pillars I, III, and IV, and discussions were held on the IPEF Supply Chain Agreement. Prior to the negotiations, a virtual listening session was held, and congressional briefings were conducted. The United States will continue to engage with IPEF partners in 2023. Ministerial meetings have also taken place to discuss ambitious outcomes in Pillars III and IV.
