Silfab Solar and NorSun Set Agreement for Supply of Solar Silicon ...

Silfab Solar and NorSun have signed a memorandum of understanding to supply Western-produced silicon wafers to the US market. The move is part of Silfab's efforts to strengthen its supply chain and increase domestic sourcing. NorSun plans to build a 5GW ingot and wafer production facility in the US. The agreement will allow Silfab to increase its share of US and European-sourced wafers and lower the carbon footprint of its solar modules. Meanwhile, NorSun recently raised $8.5m in new equity for growth projects. Silfab is utilizing a $125m investment round to open its third US facility.
